This section is just a list of things that I have learned on my journey into being a better turner. I hope you find these helpful.
1. Buy the best tools you can afford and only buy tools as you need them. Don't buy sets of tools.
2. Learn to sharpen your tools correctly. This is a very important part of turning as sharp tools will make your life easier.
3. Join a local chapter of the AAW (woodturning.org) and get involved. You will have the opportunity to learn from other members.
4. Invest in books and dvd's to teach you new skills. Check out "youtube" for videos on woodturning.
5. Protect yourself, always wear eye protection and use a dust mask or respirator to protect your lungs.
6. Give your work away as gifts. Your friends and relatives will appreciate it and down the line they may wish to purchase an item from you.
7. Challenge yourself. Turn something you have never tried.
